Working with Christina has been the best thing that has happened to our family! If you are a parent of a child that needs speech therapy or has a delay, you know I am not exaggerating.
A little back story: I was crying every day because my son was not talking. The doctor was very concerned there might be some sort of underlying disability we might not know about. After testing we found out that my son was already 2-years-old physically, but significantly delayed in receptive and expressive language. I questioned everyday what I had done wrong.
We were referred to early start services through Regional Center, and this is where we met Ms. Christina. Right away I knew it was a great match. My son took to her very quickly and started talking on his first day! I couldn’t believe it; my son was talking to a woman he had just met. He had never said a word to his own mom or dad, and here he was, talking to Christina like they were old friends (when I say talk, I mean saying, “go” or ,“three,” which was HUGE for him).
From then on out, every week we would take my son to see Christina, my son would gain more and more confidence in his speech and would be excited to practice what he learned once we got home. I didn’t know hearing the word “cat” could bring me so much joy.
I feel like my son is making so much progress due to Christina’s expertise in her field. There is no way I could have replicated this at home with my son. Christina has a way of working with kids that is conducive to their success in her speech program. She is also great at communicating and working with parents. We are so lucky to have her in our lives and working with our son.
